The Body, Mind and LIfe Conference

Tibetan Medical & Astro Institute organized the Mind, Body and LIfe Conference in Dharamsala, from June 26, 2013 to June 28, 2013.

Around 300 participants from around the world, mostly from India, gathered at Men-Tsee-Khang, formally known as the Tibetan Medical & Astro Institute to debate and deliberate on the topic of the Body, Mind and Life.

The Body, Mind and Life Conference sought perspective views from different disciplines, such as Buddhist philosophy, modern science, Tibetan medicine and astrology. The conference entailed discussion among the speakers followed by engaging with the audience for question and answers.

Modern science and traditional Tibetan knowledge greatly diverged over the existence of mind or consciousness, the former views mind as a byproduct of neural activities and the latter views mind being separable from the body or brain.

Tibetan scholars have defined sog (srog) or life in different interpretations.
